Yes it is. Don't call them back. They are looking for people they think are vulnerable to scams. They go after women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community. Also anyone they think might be having financial difficulties of some kind. If you call them back and they sense some vulnerability they will hammer you with even more calls.
Just got this call twice in a row before 8:00 a.m. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. It came across as "Private Caller" 215-734-0221. Since I live in California and telemarketing calls are illegal before 8:00 a.m., it had to be a scam. Called the number back several times and each time someone different with a foreign accent answered with a different greeting: "U.S. Treasury", "Financial something or other" and the third time I couldn't understand them at all. Definitely a scam! Don't give out any info!!!
The laws in California are a joke! They don't work unless you are the politician that the law benefits! Do not vote for incumbents! We can't keep re-electing the cronies and making them wealthier! I hate robo dialera and telemarketers!
