I received multiple calls from this number. And yes, I know it will be a scam. If you can't stop them at least cost them time and provide entertainment. The call went as follows:
Caller: Hello my name is Liz with Senior Services
Me: Who? Lee?
Caller No, Liz. (spells her name) "L"-i-zed".
Me: Okay, Liz. you want to help with the expenses for my senior year in college?
Caller: What?
Me: I need help with tuition and books. How much can you give me?
Caller: No! Final expenses!
Me: Yes, I need money for my last year in college, books and tuition.
Caller: What? How old are you?
Me: 20 (a really big fat lie)
Caller How old?
Me: 20 (spelling it out) "T-w-e-n-t-y"
Caller: This is only for seniors.
Me: I'm going to be a senior in college. How much money can I get?
Caller: You're aren't old enough. You must be a senior.
Me: I'm going to be a senior. Why are you leading me on? How much money are you giving me?
At this point Liz, the caller, becomes frustrated with me. And me with her, too! I really need the money for school (like 40+ years ago). I hang up on her. I know it won't stop the calls any more than the "Do not call list" does. I had fun.
caller ID said FINANCL REFIEF...I answered to hear loud background talk...like in a bar room full of men ....the woman with a thick Indian accent said I am Amanda (haha...an Indian named Amanda ) and your state has just been approved for a new and wonderful life insurance plan.....I asked what state....I totally threw her off and she started the spiel again....again I interrupted with what state are you talking about and when she started again...I laughed and hung up. Next time I will answer with Police Department...how can I direct your call.
I love it. Thinking I might do that too. Great idea. They called me today, however I did not answer. It it was important or legitimate, then they would have left a message. Caller ID said Financial Relief. I have no need for such services. Also, any time it sounds as if it may be something bank related, I always use a number provided by my banking facility. Never the number that they leave. Example: My credit card company called to questions a transaction and I should call them back at a number that they left on my service. I did call them back, however I did NOT use the number provided by the message agent. Turns out it was a legitimate call, but the bank thanked me for using the number provided on the back of my card and for my cautiousness. Sad, that we have to question everyone now. As for the Do Not Call registry, I am signed up, but find this to be of no help. When my mother was alive, she was CONSTANTLY scammed. They look for the elderly and feed on them. Thank you for your helpful comment. Enjoy your day.
