Just got off the phone Reported call the local police and the Attorney General North Carolina. These calls from this number or scam.gutless individuals. protect yourself call the bank and reporting agencies like Equifax and Experian. Looks like they prey on older seniors.

I have received several calls from this same number and I too am a resident of NC. I contacted the Pender Co Sheriff's office and am going out there to file a complaint. Can you tell me when you started receive these calls and what event/s led to the initial call?

Received a call from 216-744-9385 on my work phone from someone claiming to be Jacob Smith from Taylor & Assoc Law Firm. They had a very thick foreign accent and were difficult to understand. They also kept pausing, like they forgot what they were supposed to say. They said something like I or my attorney need to call them back as soon as I receive this message regarding an important matter against my social secuirty number. He didn't leave a call back number or any other information. Not that I was going to call the scammers anyway. If you have ever filled out an application online, especially for a pay day loan, these calls pop up every so often. Just ignore them, or have some fun with them when you answer the phone, they eventually stop calling.

Karen, my name is Lee and I am a Veteran and I too have received this "Phantom" calls can you tell me when started to receive these calls and what event lead to the start?

I received same calls for the past 3 days with the same threat as others have mentioned here. They stated that they were calling from a law firm about a lawsuit filed against me for receiving an on line cash advance and not paying it back. I am a disabled Veteran with no money to speak of. I live in my family's house and am getting job retraining through the VA. I have been unemployed for the last 3 years with NO bank account until 2 months ago. I have not received any such advance and when I requested information about said lawsuit the individual became very rude and irate and threatened to sue me for harassment. I have served my country honorably and this is unacceptable. what can be done about this?
