We have been receiving calls from this posted number the past 2 weeks. A heavily Indian accented woman says 'Is this the XYZ business?' Since the tone and the distance of the call seem suspect, I simply indicated we do not give out ANY information solicited over the phone. She then hung up. However, she calls back every other day. We simply are hanging up on her without saying anything further. Definitely, she is up to no good.
A man called our business wanting to know if we sold to the public. He knew our address from our website. He had an accent. Not sure what kind. He wanted to stop by to purchase the clothing, but, very strange call. For some reason, I googled the area code. We're in California and it's an Ohio number. Strange. Then, I see all of these other people who have been called by this man.
A woman with a heavy accent called and asked my address. She says she is with a companuy that does vehicle navigation. Just a FYI for everyone on this blog: companies like this will use this technique to geta recording of you saying the word "yes" and then use the recording to SLAM you. This has happened to me within the past five years and has cost me hundreds of dollars and many hour of frustration. Everyone should be sure they check there long distance carrier. If you find it has been changed, report it to your phone company right away. This is an illegal practice that is very difficult to correct.
