Called today for first time. I usually don't answer caller unknown but am sick of telemarketers. When I answered he said welcome back and laughed a scary laugh and hung up.
This number has called us multiple times over a period of several weeks. When I asked him to please take our number off their calling list, the caller said "Yeah, whatever" and hung up. They have called back since then & we are on the Do Not Call List.
This place has called me numerous times. I have answered a couple of times with no one responding. I don't know if this is true but someone once told me if you answer and repeatedly hit the pound key it mess'es with their auto dialer and supposedly it takes you off their list. Tried it this morning. So far no more calls, but it has only been a couple of hours.
I've been getting this call now for a couple days. If I don't recognize it, I don't answer it. Of course, they do not not leave a messsage. My wife answers it, no one responds. I hope the pound key as suggested in "Angry" post, works.
Got the call. They asked if I still get my Road and Track magazine. I said I don't know... why? They hung up immediately.
I've heard of scams that are designed merely to get you to say "YES" on the phone. They snip that portion from a recorded conversation and use it to order or renew a subscription. By the time you go through all the trouble to stop the order/renewal, they're gone with commission in hand.
