Just do not answer. have caller id...view the number..some phones block that number with a "block" option.
If you have an answering device...It records any information... You can the use a recording device to "record" the message... It makes good evidence for your State Attorney General..and any other agencies. Get all the information and time and day.... but....just don’t answer.
It is a federal offense to threaten one on the phone... your recorded information should help to stop these scavengers who want your identity...information...and your money.
They will not show up at your door. (in the event they should..do not open the door and call 911.
I just got the same call. I had missed the call a couple of weeks ago and I thought the number looked odd. This time I took it and when I started to question the guy, he hung up. I also tried to recall the number and was told that it was disconnected. Please be careful of this. Remember....NEVER give anyone your information over the phone!!!!
I just had a phone call from 234 789 856, telling me that I won $7,000 in government grants. They told me that this was a grant and not a loan, and that I would not have to pay any of it as long as I used the money for legal things (bills, school, etc). I was told that I won this because I was an outstanding citizen for paying bills and taxes on time, not having a criminal record, etc. She verified my name and address and I was then told to call 253-655-4861 with confirmation number LM007 and her name was Lisa Rice. When I called the number there was no answer so I Googled the number received and found this blog. So glad that I did not go through with this! How did they get this information? I did not give my SS number. It is scary to think that people do this, and build people up with hope only to try to scam them out off money.
