Not duped by Parker and Pedro: Reporting the identical scam in Santa Barbara, CA. The same incredible rental deal was placed on Craig's List over the weekend, 700.00 a month plus utilities, internet etc. The ad is now placed by a supposed "Andre Parker" but her husband is still the very Rev. Wale Pedro. Same sick story about being in Africa for 4 yrs doing "God's work etc. My colleague at work who is looking for a place had the wisdom to go to this site. As the adage goes "if it seems too good to be true it probably is..." It now seems to have been taken off Craig's list.
Found a house for rent & emailed about it,they said they got tranferred to africa for work. we thought the rent was ridiculously cheap for a 2story 3bed/2bath home. & the number on the sign was a local number yet I received a call back from this number. They wanted us to send a deposit to their "secretary" Wale Pedro in Nigeria. Thought it was fishy so I looked it up & here I am ..scam.
I found a house in the Pittsburgh area on craigslist. Emailed them to get the particulars and received an email that stated that he and his wife were in Africa for work. I asked to view the home and received an answer that stated that I could send in the deposit and he would send me the keys. Total scam!!
Emailed these people about a 3bdrm/2bth home. They emailed me back with all the information on how I'd get the keys first I'd have to send them a $500 deposit then they'd email me the keys I to address 217 Rector Street Phila. PA. 19128 my husband and I went to look at the home and it was beautiful. I emailed them back saying I didn't feel comfortable with sending them the wholee $500 and I send them half they could send the keys then I'll send the other half I received a call from a guy with an African accent and everything but I couldn't return the call. So I decided to put the number in google before any more steps and I'd like to Thank You guys so very much and I'm sorry you all feel victim to this horrible scam.
