I've had a smilar experience: couple working for United States World Missionaries (USWM) in Africa, renting an apartment in Boston but has no one to show it here, needs a $500 deposit just to get the key, contacted by the wife Kathy Pedro by email ([email protected]) and then contacted by the husband Rev. Wale Pedro (0112347043943494) on the phone.  I was already suspicious and thought it was a scam, but finding this site confirmed it.  Thanks everyone for posting!!!

The main reason why we are giving out our lovely apartment for rent is because,we are presently in ( Victoria Garden City, West Africa ) for a missionary work with God,it will take us 2 years before we will return to the apartment.We are with the keys and the documents of the apartment here,and my husband will be using Fedex courier service to post the keys/documents to the our new tenant,after we have come to an agreement.

I also responded to the ad for the DC apt! It seemed like an amazing deal. But I knew the location of the apt (25 Mass Ave NW) was an office building since I used to work there. And with them being in Africa, I definitely wasn't sending money over there! I reported this to Craigslist. Hopefully no one else gets duped.

Remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is!

Not duped by Parker and Pedro: Reporting the identical scam in Santa Barbara, CA. The same incredible rental deal was placed on Craig's List over the weekend, 700.00 a month plus utilities, internet etc. The ad is now placed by a supposed "Andre Parker" but her husband is still the very Rev. Wale Pedro. Same sick story about being in Africa for 4 yrs doing "God's work etc. My colleague at work who is looking for a place had the wisdom to go to this site. As the adage goes "if it seems too good to be true it probably is..."  It now seems to have been taken off Craig's list.

I almost got caught up in this scam also !!!! but the out of the county made me think twice and I am soo glad I did Thanks for your email and interest in renting my house..I am   WALE PEDRO, the owner of the house you are making inquiry of…Actually I resided in the house with my family, my wife and my only daughter before and presently we have moved out  due to my transfer from my work now in Warsaw,Poland.
