Don't pay attention to this puppet comment.  No legitimate company calls you out of the blue to offer you remote cleaning services without some sort of scam being involved.  Even worse, anyone who actually agrees to go to the website they tell you on the phone and allow them to remotely connect is a numskull.  There are real companies that provide remote cleaning and optimization services BUT they do not just call you out of the blue.

(Most of the time these scam companies will open your Windows error log and get you all concerned over normal day-to-day errors that happen in the OS.  They are good at taking advantage of the uninformed).

NOW, with all this said, the scammer company is 99.9% not going to be this Microtec one listed in Houston and SW Florida.  These scammer companies from India typically just steal names and numbers from legitimate companies in the US.  They are hoping that if you Google them while they are on the call that they will convince you that they are real and to go with them.  They know that if you call the numbers back you will get a US business that has no relation to them.  Of course, they will just call you back later in time to tell you they gave the wrong office number of some other lame excuse.  This operation is nothing new to the Internet Security and scam communities.

I have been receiving phone calls from foreign speaking (Spanish maybe) stating my computer is being
hacked and a number of viruses on my hard drive.  They talked me into using their security systems and
promised to keep my computer clear of viruses and from being hacked for the life of my computer. The
charge for the service I received was $150.00 dollars. Microtec Support LLC gave the 239-247-5552 as
their phone number - their address is listed as 10685-B Hazelhurst Drive #14103, 14350 60st North,
Houston,Texas 77043 - website : www.microtecsupport.com.  THIS IS A SCAM OPERATION.

I received a  call from a 334-523-2018 saying I had downloaded malcious virus on my computer. I asked him "how he got my number?"  The man (with an India accent)  said "from a database of all micosoft  window users".  I asked "where was he calling from?" and he said "Texas" . I said "this is not a TX area code, what is your number?"  He said his number was 239-247-5552.   I informed him that my computer is not turned on and I hadn't used my computer in the past five days.  He asked me to  turn on my computer and he would show me where the viruses were located.  I told him "No
Thank you..I don't know you and I won't do that.  I told him I would check with Microsoft directly. He said "we are not microsoft, we are a contractor under microsoft".  He said you can call us back at 239-247-5552 later. I called the number back 3345232018 and it was out of service. I called the 239-247-5552 and a person answered with a lot of noise in the background of others talking on the phone. I asked what company is this, he said Microtecsupport then the call went silent..  I hung up the call.

On Friday July 26, 2013 I got a call on our landline from an 888 exchange.  The caller had a strong Indian accent and I thought he said he was Microsoft Support, but his accent was difficult to understand.  Told me that they'd detected that my computer with Microsoft had a virus; had my computer been running slower?  I currently do happen to have a ticket opened with Microsoft support so was hoping he would help with that, but told him I needed a number to call to verify that he was with Microsoft.  He gave me 239-247-5552 and the name Edward Parker.  When I called it, I thought they answered Microsoft, and they transferred me to that same caller.  I started asking him questions and he put me on hold.  Soon another guy answered as if I'd called him.  I asked if he was with Microsoft Support, he answered "No, I'm with Microtech Support".  I hung up and called again listening carefully to the greeting, which was Microtech Support.  I told them I'd called the wrong number and hung up. The next day we got a call from ID "Opra Winfrey", the caller had a strong Indian accent and talked about a virus.  He asked if we have a Microsoft computer, we answered no, and the caller hung up.
