Thank you Kat. You are so right. I just went through this but the second I got hit up for money I knew what it was! And thank you DR PHIL!!! It's so very sad. This breaks my heart for me and especially for those who actually paid.
My mom met this guy on a online dating site and has bedn talking to him for about a week or two...sopposevly hes madly in love with her and is very rich...has two mansions..his name is lance harrison...said he buys solid gold bars in africa. Imports them to the us and sells them for tripple...my mom was going to fly out and take me with her to see this man until she startex telling me about how he wanted her to give her bank acct number so he could wire her some money.....have her pick it upto and then re wire it to his accountant in affrica for his buisness..so i asked her for his name and phone numbers to look into this jack a**...i landed here good thing!!!! Im not sure how much personal info he has got over the past couple weeks...what precautions should she take?????????
Watch her credit report and bank accounts like a hawk.
( annualcreditreport.com is the correct place for requesting a free credit report - watch out for scam sites, and sites trying to sell expensive subscriptions )
Change anything this creep may have had access to (account numbers, passwords, etc.,.)

Put mom on notice that from now on you get to pass judgement on all potential boyfriends - at the beginning, and any time after that.
I hope your mom appreciates what a wonderful daughter/son you are. You not only saved her money, you may have saved her life. Some of these predators can be dangerous.
Does anyone have photo`s of Lance Harrison ? My brother was also contacted by a " Harrison " claiming he was gay and was in love with my brother. He was also in Africa and buying and selling gold bars..
