Thank you Kat. You are so right. I just went through this but the second I got hit up for money I knew what it was! And thank you DR PHIL!!! It's so very sad. This breaks my heart for me and especially for those who actually paid.
Someone called saying they were a detective named officer cooper and kept on asking questions of who I am and asking me all kinds of questions this is a scam do not answer the phone for these people the number is froma majic jack number if you call it back I'm warning everyone do not answer the call!!!
This number called my phone claiming to be a detective from Florida cussing at me and said that I had been making threating calls to some girl that I have never known. When my fiance got on the phone and asked for his credentials and badge number he refused to give it to him. Then my fiance told him he was a MP in the Army which is true and told him he had to give him his information or he could be arrested by the military police he changed his attitude and said he had the wong number.
JUST GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER! I didn't answer. I have a habit of screening my calls via Google...don't judge me :-( and I stubbled across these comments.
Alright so I will go ahead and put myself out there. I had met this guy online back in Jan. He just IMMEDIATELY went into this thing where he claimed to be in love with me, wanting to marry me, wanted to pay off all of my debt, so on and so forth. Anyways, we called the credit card company and he paid them via some account he had. After the payments cleared and all of my credit cards were at a zero balance, he asked if I could buy some electronics for his business because he was waiting on some cards to come. Needless to say the [***] scammed me out of a thousands. I was so stupid for that but hell, it is what it is at this point
He went by the name Keith Vencent. The only reason I fely compelled to type this is because some of these stories are too ironic and if anyone has experienced what I experienced, I can relate...and if you haven't experienced this scam, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!! I'm almost done paying everything back but a major set-back like that really blew my life for a minute :-( He "claimed" to be back and forth between Chicago, Birmingham and Chicago. He never pays anything with a card, cash only (which I didn't realize until after he changed his number after the scam unraveled. Claims he has all of this money and that the reason he wants to help you is because he understands how it is to be busy and just not want to have to work as hard.
Anyways, this number didn't leave a message. I will keep monitoring this board. These scam artist work so FYCKING hard at scamming you out of your hard earned but if they worked just as hard to earn a honest living, they would have already been RICH by now. Low life losers!!!
