This is a report on "American Veterans Foundation" from "Military Money Matters:

This may be a legitimate company, though I have no verification. Other responses state the call was from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from Microsoft, which unless you personally know someone there, will be a lie. They wanted the people to "get on" their computers right away, possibly to remotely trojanize them.
I received this call when I was out of town Sept. 10th-18th, along with another one from 240-252-3089.
Call from this # tonight (240-241-7819--V9082244500399). Fortunately, caller ID is free on our cable company phone so we use a "greeting only" message: "Hello - Caller ID is on so that we can monitor phone calls. We never answer calls from numbers we don't know. Friends, your name & number are recorded so we can call you back. The answering machine is off". Lately scammers leave messages, junking up the answering machine so we're trying this.
Got the same call at 6:24. I didn't pick up of course. The message they left was......pause followed by a click. At least they wasted "some" time waiting for me to pick up - jerks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
