The bank verified the check and I placed it into an account. Performed the tasks by sending out Moneygrams. Called Michael Richardson and told him I would no longer do any more work for him because I got suspicious after reading all of these posts. That was two weeks ago and haven't heard anything from anyone since. I have my fingers crossed, twice, and hope I didn't get scammed. If I were you, I wouldn't cash that check. I will keep you posted if anything else happens.
I have the same story as everyone else and the guy said his name is David Jordan and he was going to pay me $24/hr to work 15hrs a week. I knew it was too good to be true. He also has my name, phone number, and address. So hopefully he doesn't try and do anything else now that he has that information. I should have known with all of the grammatical errors that it wasn't a real job offer.

I also applied for an admin job on craigslist and it was local. Got an email from David Jordan and a letter in the mail with a check of $2,480. $400 for me and the rest to be wired to two people in London. I called the alleged company and they had no idea what was going on. I also googled his number and I called the bank that the check was from. The lady informed that the check was a fake and I reported him.
Call the bank first before you even dream about cashing it.They can give you all the info you'll need. This is so sorry for those who got ahead of themselves.
I just received a check of $2,400 and I haven't cashed it because the back of the check has a padlock which is suppose to disappear after you put your thumb on top of it. And it is not disappearing so I'm gonna report it and see what happens. ITS A SCAM!!
I got the same message and phone number but it was from a guy named david jordan. He mailed me a check for $2,480. Told me to cash it, keep 400 and money gram two other people the rest.
