SCAM---Just listened to a message claiming to be IRS telling me to call this number to speak to a Federal Agent...."Call immediately to avoid SERIOUS federal charges being filed against you!"
So....I called back so I could use my new Air Horn, but it just rang and rang!
IRS fraud call!! An Indian guy called telling me I had committed a fraud on my taxes and that I was being sued 30-40 thousand dollars to the IRS or 5 years in prison. They ask you if you want to deal with the case in court or with an officer then they transfer you to someone else that will try to convince you to pay an amount of money to dismiss the case.
IF THEY CALL DONT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION!!!
Got call threating juditial action will be taken against me. Left this number to call back. Unavailable shows up on caller ID with no phone number. Has called and hung up several times after this call. Preying on innocent people.
Left an automated message saying I was being charged with a "serious federal offense" and if I didn't return the call to the stated number immediately, I would be referred to a judge or grand jury for criminal prosecution. Unfortunately, I do not check my messages regularly, so I guess I am going to prison.
Its a scam. If you had answered or called back the scammer would give you a chance to buy your way out of trouble. He would have insisted that you pay by giving him your credit card or bank account number right then. He would then use that number to spend all of your money.
