I got the same call today for someone i do not know..... I called back and told them to remove me from there list, because that person was unknown to me. I also told them by leaving that persons info. on my voicemail they broke the law. She said no we did not break the law, told me not to call them back and hung up on me.
I am in the process now of reporting this to every possible consumer affair group there is!
BTW.. If you call them back, the number on my ID only connects you to there voicemail. I got an immediate response by calling 240-696-1708.
I received a call from Thomas Washington today (2/28/08) saying that he was a civil investigator and he was filing a civil and criminal suit against this person and I was listed as the contact. He asked that I call the number 240-696-8264. When I called I got a message that all of their civil investigators were busy and please leave a name and phone number for them to contact me with. Luckily, when I told my daughter about it, she referred me to this tool to let others know of the scam.
female caller called my grandmother asking for me and asked her to give me a message that she was calling from a criminal investigations department and that they had criminal charges against me and also left a case number.Everytime I call the number I get a recording that tells me to leave a message with my name and number and an agent will return my call..I blocked my number when I called and was worried that someone had stolen my identity or something because I don't live in maryland...The person wasn't given my info to call me but I'm wondering how they recieved my grandmother's number.
I got a call today from these [***] (240-696-8264). Telling me I was being sued by Province Bank. Which I've never had any affiliation with. Anyways the guy identified himself as"John" something. He tried to act like a lawyer, but did a crappy job. When I called it sounded like Shaniqua from down the street picked up the phone.
