Who called from 2406998945

Called on New Year's Day!!! This carpet shampoo operation needs to get a clue and turn off its robot dialer -- for good. Reporting number as telemarketing fraud/harassment.

Recorded message.....re carpet cleaning

Received call from 240 6998945 at 1345 1/4/09.  Recorded message offering carpet cleaning service at very low price.  I was told to hang on for representative.  I waited and was told to press 1 for representative or 2 to be removed from list.  This is the third call I've received and responded to over the past several months.  I have received many more in the past and hang ups.  Caller ID shows the same number.  The first time I responded I asked pressed 2.  It was not effective. The last time I pressed 1 and spoke to a representative.  When I told him I wanted to be placed on the do not call list he hung up.

I was called at approximately 11:20 on Sat. January 9th, 2010.  The recorded message told me that they could clean my carpet for $49.95. 'press one if you are interested, 2 to be permanently removed from the list.'  Pressed 1, to waste their time, since they want to waste mine.  When I mentioned the don't call lsit the cutesy little voice hung up on me.  Just another scammer, I guess.  I'm in the 619 area code, on the opposite  end of the country....

I was also told they would clean my carpet. Talked to a human, told them I was on the Do Not Call registry, and hung up.

I am amused however that previous reports here claim that they were for a child donation service...
