this person called requesting money for a payday loan stating that i owe since 2009, which I did not using tow different other numbers, if she call just hang up they call me three times, telling me the police will coming to my home with a summons, and will not tell me who the company is that stating that I owe them money, or give their address
The caller is violating several parts of the FDCPA. It is illegal to make threats as real process server do not call first. They must also BY LAW give their company information when asked for as well as the original creditor and the amount due,..
A phone call is NOT considered official notification either. Demand WRITTEN proof of this "debt" that is MAILED to you (not emailed or faxed). Expect more excuses and possibly illegal, meaningless threats. .
This call says that Capitol Services is calling demanding that either the call's recipient or his attorney contact the company in order to resolve some issue. The robot asks the recipient to press #1 to speak with a representative. Gives a case number to refer to when doing so. This is obviously a scam! This is the same kind of call this office has received from various locations like Norfolk, CT, or Concord, VT. The caller I.D. says that the call originates from College Park, MD. Someone needs to do something about these people. I hate answering the phone at work as it is!
This was on DC Fox news as a local sting operation scam calls location Greenbelt MD. I received a call today Robot saying they have my personal information must call to resolve this issue you or your lawyer to Capital Services ( MD)..this is a scam for your money don't reply...SMH collect on a loan that is not yours.
Wow. The only reason I answered it because I live in that area and it looked like a familiar number. I'm used to the scammers calling from long distance or spoofed numbers. They just called me, but I hung up halfway through because I have gotten calls like this before.
