WHAT is the difference between 'picking up and hanging up' and "letting them leave a message" as far as them 'recording' one's number as being 'valid?' WHY is letting them leave a message better??? Either way, they know they have a working number, the computer will record such, and you will get more calls.
Besides, They've called FOUR times so far, and LEFT NO MESSAGES in the times I wasn't home to pick up/hang up to 'break' the call.
I DO agree, however, in registering a COMPLAINT with the DONOTCALL List after EACH and EVERY one of these calls so that the government can TRACK these numbers and perhaps GO AFTER them to shut them down.
I think it works, at times. I just enjoyed THREE FULL WEEKS with no such annoying calls - until yesterday when they started again.
The Do Not Call List is a joke. I register our phone and we still get calls and I reported them and nothing has ever been done an the people that call says Do Not Call List is a joke also.
You clearly do not understand the purpose of the Do Not Call list, how it works and how many types of nuisance calls are not covered. The only type of calls covered are from telemarketers selling goods or services to those called. Charities, political organizations, opinion surveys and yes even debt collectors are not covered by the law. Then there are the scammers who are already breaking other laws so do you really expect them to register and pay to access the DNC list to avoid calling you? Any sales calls, and that includes the "free" home security or medic alert systems, extended vehicle warranties, "service" calls claiming the are alerting you to lower car insurance rates, "free" cruises or vacations are all reportable to the DNC list when the government reopens since they really are trying to sell you something even if they do not flat out admit it. Scams get reported to both the FTC and if they are impersonating a federal agency such as the IRS or DEA direct to those agencies as well.
I have had 3 calls already this morning and no one answers when I talk. They just hang up. Do they get paid so much for every call they make and if so who do we call to stop this?
