Clarification on my post re: the 250-483-0013 number. Using the internet phone to call a land line, the number 250-483-0013 appeared on the caller ID. The caller was in a totally different area code, not 250. Seems the voice over internet call emerges from the digital ether and connects to the land line system via 250-483-0013. And the number isn't associated with any one caller.
OK, just got my 3rd hang up today. When I call back I just get dead air.
I have a 250 number but am in Edmonton right now so all calls are long distance for me.
Please can someone back on the coast hunt these [***] down?
Just tried to call a local number from my vonage number. Every time, I only heard myself speaking, with some delay, no sound on the other side. After several times, I gave up, and used skype to call. My friend answered the phone, saying that she was called several times in a row and didn't hear anything. So far that seemed correct. But her call display showed 250-483-0013, which is NOT my number!
