Clarification on my post re: the 250-483-0013 number. Using the internet phone to call a land line, the number 250-483-0013 appeared on the caller ID. The caller was in a totally different area code, not 250. Seems the voice over internet call emerges from the digital ether and connects to the land line system via 250-483-0013. And the number isn't associated with any one caller.
OK,
I use a vonage 780 number that is forwarded to my roger's 250 cell phone which used to work just great up until a couple of days ago. Now, local 780 calls are still handled just fine with the local number showing up in the caller id.
BUT it now looks like any long distance calls to vonage are being sent to roger's via this 250-483-0013. I'm not sure if this is a vonage sending problem or a roger's receiving problem (or if I have the energy right now to deal with either's tech support).
Got a call today from this number they left a message on my machine it was an automated msg saying ive won an all inclusive trip to cancun mexico and all i need to do is pay 299.00
Had several calls on my cell from this number this month and last. From the looks of all these other comments, I don't think I'll be answering any time soon!!
Missed a call this morning from this number but they didn't leave a message on voice mail. Tried to block it through Telus Call Screen but it didn't work as it's a number we apparently cannot block...
