Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

Report your callers here, not just to the DNC alone:

https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

A call blocker only hasf limited use.  It ONLY works if the scammers are using the same number several times.  These days, most of the scammers spoof numbers, and change them constantly.    When I first bought my call blocker it worked quite well, but now the scammers have adjusted their ways to circumvent the call blockers.

Ed,
I know what you mean.  I even got a call from MYSELF once!  When I picked up the phone there was a split-second of WTF? going on in my head.  I didn't answer... hey, I knew I wasn't calling myself!

I bought a different phone just for the call blocking capabilities.  Problem is, it only blocks 30 numbers.  It filled up fast.  Now, I occasionally delete everything in that group in my phone and start over.  Yes, they do change numbers, so I don't get duplicates of numbers I deleted very often as it takes a few months to get to 30 numbers.

I agree.  I have a phone like that and the blocked number list is full and no room for more.  I wish there was a greater capacity.  I even got an anonymous call the other day with no ID or number.  Some foreign guy tried to convince me he was calling about governmrnt grants and when I asked him "what" he hung up on me.  It's very annoying that these people get away with scams and robo calls.  I thonk that there are too many complaints for the DNC folks to deal with.  It's an epidemic of grand proportions.  If I had the option of dropping my land line for a cell phone I would.  I have a cheap cell phone that is not good enough to usr FT.  Smart phones are way out of my reach $ right now.
