the phone call came on my cell phone--caller ID said it was from Des Moines, Washington and they left the message that it was the IRS and they were going to file a lawsuit....total scam that's been going around--I got the same call from a number in Iowa a couple of weeks ago.
If the IRS wants to contact you, they will send you a letter in the mail. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION.
I got a call from this number with a truncated message to call them back about a "lawsuit". Caller ID just said "Seattle WA". No other information. Odd since I live in St. Louis and haven't been to Seattle in over a decade. Anything to get you to call them back since I ignore the offers for "free cruises" and "security systems".

This number left me with a feminine robot voice sounding message; "The reason for this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information on this case file please cal immediately on our department number 253-237-1585....". According to the IRS website THIS IS A SCAM. They are likely phishing for information or will try to tell you that you owe money and to wire it or provide a credit card for payment to resolve the "issue"
