I answered this call a few nights ago. First off, the guy "Account Rep" knew my first name.
He says, "I'm calling in regards to your account with (such and such) bank."
I replied " I have NO bank accounts, NO Mortgage. No Car loans AND,.. NO Credit cards! Never have!
Then he says,.. Uh,.. Is this (My first name) B. (My last name)?
I was somewhat in Ah, because other then the B (which is NOT my middle initial). He did know my First and Last name. I DO NOT have any Bank accounts, or Credit cards. So, a lower interest rate is QUITE useless to me.
I told the guy, NO. That is not my name. Close but nope.
Today they called again. Prompting me to look them up.
They are likely the same group as the Automobile warranty company calls I got all last year. (I fix up old cars, I don't have warranties).
I just got a call from this umber. I press 1 got to the Rep. I said you called me about a credit card or something I have with you and they hung up. I called back and got a recording. Not a real company SCAM.
called my cell phone while at work. answered it, got the same automated message from "credit card services" stating that this is my last chance to reduce my credit card interest rate to 6percent. i pressed "1", i was already figuring it was a scam and when they asked my for my credit card number "to verify" in informed them that i had 10 credit cards just to see what they would say. at that point i was told they would reduce my rate to 6percent on all the cards, lol. i told him that it was bs, take my number off the list, and hung up. they called from 253-246-8586. with everyone getting a call from this number, why cant it be traced and action be taken on these scum bags that have probably already ripped off many folks.
i too got a call from this number, but just hung up when i saw on my cell screen it was not a known number. came here to see what it was. i too have reported it to the "do not call" site. does reporting really do any good? how long does it take for them to follow up and stop this nonsense?
