Omg they called me today!! I'm from Mississippi so I know this scam is spreading they got all my information and everything is there any way I CAN SUE THEM???????
Just received call from 9265432166 My husband is to call 2024049047 to claim his $6000 grant. The caller had difficulty speaking English, so I found it amazing he was representing the U.S. government. Asked for a website I could check out their credentials and he said www.governmentgrants.com. The .com only confirmed this was not the government-besides, in my state the taxes just increased to take care of government debt. Like they would be giving AWAY money!?!?!? HAHAHA is right! I just pray no one actually falls for this.
Just recieved a phone call today from these people, saying I was approved for a $7000 Grant from the Federal Treasury Department and that I was selected amongst 15000 other people to recieve this grant money. Told me not to use it in an illegal way, i told him fine. I was then told to send $110 at first before he corrected himself to try to milk me for an extra $10 which made it $120 to send to the INDO AMERICAN FOUNDATION..
1st number they called from was 202-900-5555, a [***] named Christie Brown.. Lol she had a deep Indian accent with and American name, 1st red flag for me went up.
2nd number to call with your confirmation number is 202-905-0678 and I needed to ask for Steven Jones so he could release the money into my bank account.
Anyways I wish I could sit accross the street from where theyre located at with my 30i6 and a scope and knock brain matter out of them
there's not only the 253 number calling people,its also 206-317-3861,the lady's name is christian casper and telling people that they need to send $99 to indo american foundation by western union to get ur grant money of $ 7,000 dollars..
Same thing just happened to me. One Asian or Indian woman called and said I was to be rewarded with a $7000 grant from the dept. of U.S. Treasury. I almost fell for it. But when I called the number back for the Indo-Asian guy to confirm, he said I had to donate $120 to the Indo-American Foundation at western union within the hour. Not happening, though as I am not in California today but in Mexico. Besides the fact that I don't have it. This sounds like the same 2 people, one female foreigner then the male confirmation number @ #202-370-7640 speaks well enough English but is obviously foreign as well. I told him I would do it. knowing I won't, just want to wait 10 minutes and call him back to tell him he's been found fraudulent by the FBI and US government, then see his reaction...lol...they must think I'm stupid. I record all calls on my computer, so if it gets down to it they will have to keep moving and changing their #'s. Which can be tracked down to his IP address. Nice way to wake up on a Saturday morning. :)
This scam is still up and running. Just got a call from a 202 number. His accent was so unintellieble that I couldn't even understand his name. But based on my address and phone number, and having paid bills on time with no bankruptcy to my name and no criminal record, I was eligible to receive a once in a lifetime government grant for $7,000. This money was recommended for use in paying off bills or buying a car, etc. He just needed to fill out some info on me and then I would get my grant number and a number to call for the finance department. I kept saying it sounded really strange and I would like to call back - but he wouldn't give me a number to call until I filled out my form, starting with my birthday. So I asked him to mail me something - which he said he couldn't do. So I told him I was pretty sure the government would be willing to mail me something about this. No grant for me... Damn scammers!
