We have only been called once, however, the computer that generated the call said that this was our second, and final, call, and that we were entitled to a rate reduction on our cards. The gentleman who came on line after a two-minute wait, did give me his name, but otherwise only identify the organization as "Cardmember Services", allegedly working for Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Since we have no credit cards, I was immediately suspicious, and asked the gentleman how he got my name, and, apparently, I am listed as a card holder.
I recive this call allso wail I was out of the house. I tried returning the call to see who it was but to no avail it goes strait to voice mail and its full!
More of the same CC scam - this appears to be a new group.
they are Robo calling and trying to Qualify your for a CC Scam.
This group was talkative (first person seemed New and was an Indian (Inida), when that person could not get past my questions an american came on the call.
they wanted my SSN (Last 4 digits) and Zip Code.
They did not appear to know my name or any info (or did not say when asked)
They said their company name was My Number One Needs - But could not give a website name, nothing on google either.
I dialed the # back with *67 and the number was not a valid Number - they seem to filter the Private Numbers looks like.
I have been getting this call over and over-and I have no credit cards at all-it is annoying and I am on no call list and continue to get these calls-is there anything I can do to stop it!
After three blessed days with NONE of these calls (was there a monsoon in India or something???) got a call from this number. Since I recognized the pattern of a strange UNKNOWN NUMBER with NO NAME, i picked up/hung up without answering to break the call and then came here to look it up.
Within ONE MINUTE, while i was just finding these comments, i got ANOTHER CALL, this one said "POLITICAL CALL" and the number 857-444-5592 on Caller ID. I did the same thing: picked up/hung up to stop it.
This has happened before: 2-3 calls within a minute of each other - sometimes the SAME number; other times two or three 'different' numbers (but since they are probably ALL SPOOFED that makes little difference.)
My POINT being the NEW TACTIC seems to be to call, and if they can't get through, such as with being BLOCKED or otherwise thwarted with ONE number - to IMMEDIATELY TRY AGAIN with another SPOOFED/FALSE number in order to, hopefully, break through our 'defenses' and perpetrate their SCAM on us, anyway.
At least in THIS case, it didn't work.
