Received voicemail April 23, 2015 saying IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. Googled the number of their "department" and found others have reported the same scam from this number. The weird thing is that my telephone display of most recent calls does not list this number. The most recent call was a legitimate number (although a hang-up) from an N.C. area code. The prior numbers displayed are from area codes 273 and 202. I did not recognize either number and one was from "unknown."
Received a call from 724-599-6574 where they left a message saying it was the IRS and this was final notification that they were filing lawsuits against me, did not use my name. They told me to call back 253-292-2645. Never heard of the IRS calling anyone so did not call back.
i got a call from 720-594-6544 stating final notice from IRS and they were filing lawsuit against me and I'm like o.k. I have an accountant that does my taxes so I call my wife and tell her the good news and she laughs and says give me the number so I give her the 253-292-2645 and she calls and a dude picks up the phone and says "internal revenue service" and she says she is returning a phone call and the dude hangs up on her.
