Saw number, quickly googled it and the results said it was a scam, so I did not pick up.
You know, before I had caller ID and I picked up a call from a scammer, I had some fake 16 digit credit card numbers handy just for scammers (starting with the numbers 54). I enjoyed letting scammers believe they had made an easy score, knowing that these beliefs would later be crushed!
On rare occasions, a scammer might call back to tell me that the credit card info I had given was inaccurate. I would respond by saying something like "well that makes two of us" or "so only you're allowed to make stuff up?". I would then usually hang up before the scammer's 'impolite' language began.
So if you do accidently get a scammer on the line...
You can get unlimited fake credit card numbers from FakeNameGenerator.com that look good to the scammers (because they pass the initial "Luhn algorithm" modulus 10 test used to check Credit card numbers and Social Security numbers) and the scammer wastes their time trying to collect, only to find out that the CC number they have isn't attached to any active account.
Keep up the good work and continue to waste these scammers' time!
I have been getting calls from this particular number almost daily. I do not pick up EVER after the first "consumer services" ID came in. I guess that until there is some robo call legislation is in place, it will continue to happen. Like we all got such great service being on the Do Not Call list.LOL
All they are doing is looking for a warm body to pick up the phone. I do not even get messages on the machine anymore.
Next it will be texting or twitter or instagram or any of those other silly social media places. I do not use those either.
If I need to call someone I call. Maybe someday in a dream world, all these low life scammers will go away.
This number called me this afternoon at 2:18. When I answered, it was the Card Holder Services credit card scammers. I waited on hold for a "representative" and after I was finally connected with someone, I began messing around with the woman on the other end. If these people think they can scam me, they have another thing coming.
