Call showed up as 986-2014. Claimed to be tech support or something from Microsoft, saying that my computer has a virus. Asked about frequency of internet usage. Wanted me to delete files or something. I hung up.
If it is the scam I have heard about , they say they can fix it remotely then if you give them enough info they hen can control you computer or get into it later to steal other stuff ( Info) that is on your computer.
This effer keeps calling my house phone and I don't pick up numbers I don't know. I've gotten calls like this from other area codes too and it's "Microsoft support" but I do I.T. for a living and I know a scam. These people are the scum of the earth.
This number has called my home phone at least 5 times a day. I answered today. It was a man with a heavy accent stating he was calling from Windows about my computer. I told him I didn't have a computer. He stated my full name and said I do have a computer. I told him I know he is a scammer and to not call back. He promptly hung up.
This number called at 11:42 today. For some dumb reason I answered it and no one was there. I checked my cell phone around 1PM and found that my sound had been turned off and I had to shut it off and turn it back on again. I think this guy has a way to get info from our phones. Oh, just 5 minutes with this guy out in the woods!
