These people keep calling us about problems with our computers, they want us to give them remote access so they can show us everything that's wrong with the computer, then they want us to buy software to fix it but apparently are not authorized to take personal information including VISA - they want us to deposit money to a personal name in India via Western Union.  This rings huge bells of "scam" to us.  We've told them to take us off their calling list but they refuse.  We do NOT believe that they are who they say they are, or that they're honest about their intentions.
The - I'll use the term loosely - gentleman who last called (on Jan 28/14) identified himself as Roderick, if that helps at all.  I'm not sure what category this falls into, so I just picked the closest, Telemarketer, as they did try to sell me something (that probably doesn't exist).  You don't seem to have a "scam" category.  ;-)

I just received the same type of call:  telling me they were receiving messages of malicious material being downloaded onto my old PC.  My spider senses were tingling.  When they told me to press the Flag and R keys together, and a "run program" screen came up, that was my cue to hang up.  The guy's supervisor called me back!  Told me to google his phone number and up came your remarks.  Seriously??  Deposit money to an account in India??  Do they think we fell off the turnip truck??

Thanks to everyone who posted this.  I just received it and I knew it was a scam but I wanted to see how many other people have been targeted. Anyone who calls and doesn't identify themselves with a company ID or a 1-800 number should always be your first sign.  This is a fraud and you should not follow through with any of their requests.
