Tell them to stop calling you or else you will report them to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), your telephone company and the local police. Then keep track of all their calls using caller ID. I believe that you need proof of ten calls, but the FCC or phone company can tell you for certain how many you need to prove harassment. I believe that you can then get several hundred dollars from the company as compensation for harassment. The FCC web site is fcc.gov
I got the same message ie: not a telemarketer, blah, blah. Want me to call by 5:30 pm today. I've had my identity stolen by answering these things, not again!
Are these guys a 3rd party collector? They call my mom constantly *3 times a day* in direct violation of the FDCPA. If they are a 3rd party, I'm going to own them.
You're an idiot. They're calling because you owe them money and as long as they're not talking to anyone or leaving messages, they can call you 10x a day.
No, I'm not acting "high on my horse" because they're calling me too - or I wouldn't have a concern for this phone number...but it cracks me up to see people complain about someone calling them because they owe money. Duh. I just wanted to see which creditor it was, calling me.
