Many calls from Universal Financial. Sometimes I get a recording stating I must call them back, which I do and am sent to a voicemail for "Marcus". Marcus never calls back. EVER!
Sometimes a real person is on the phone, and they are looking for a family member who now resides in a nursing home. The phone is listed in MY name, BTW, and I don't owe them a dime for anything.
I've asked them to stop the calls, yet they continue. I have explained the situation, that the person they are looking for is no longer here. They don't care. They insist that they MUST speak with him.
I think it's total [***] that a company I don't even owe money to can call me on MY phone, which I pay for, looking for payment for the debt of a family member who 1) no longer lives here and 2) doesn't even know where or who he is. I really hope they take this one to court.
I called back, and the phone rings once, then silence. I think I am going to send them a bill for return phone charges and time done researching their company, as well as answering their calls, and when they don't pay it, take them to court here for non-payment of a bill. When they don't show up, I'll win by default, and THAT will be a valid bill.
They've called every day for a week now, never leaving a message. The one time I got to the phone, they asked for someone who clearly wasn't me, but when I told them they had the wrong number, they hung up on me. They still called this morning, waking me out of a sound sleep. All this, despite being on the DNC list. I've had Comcast block the number, so I hope this ends this harassment. Now that the DNC is permanent, I hope they make the fines much stiffer for people who won't comply!
I sent an e-mail to Nancy Rodriquez and received a reply that said she had "reviewed the account and it is readily apparent that there is a wrong phone number listed on the contact information for the account that was supplied to us by our client."
Great. But I never identified myself in the e-mail. How do they know they have the wrong person? I can't wait until the 60 Minutes camera crew show up at their offices.
The number just called work and demanded a call back by 9pm tonight. Nice that they got my team lead at work, I got the message and no answer when i called back. how and where did they get my work phone number as there is no validity for them to be contacting me at work.
