Be aware of this illegitimate company. I receive a call from this number about a week ago and this person told me they were calling on behalf of Washington Gas and was calling to inform me of rebates for my gas bill and wanted to know if I was interested in lowering my gas bill and I said who is this again and the phone got disconnected and they didn't call back. Today, April 16, 2015, they just called my phone again and I didn't answer it, but when I looked it up I saw this message and I'm glad I did. Even though I don't fall for people who scam, it's still good to make others aware of them. I have put their number on my auto reject list for good and they can't call me anymore.
This caller was savvy enough to have my name and know who provides my gas service and claimed to be calling on behalf of them and kept asking me to authorize a "rebate". I asked--several times if they were actually an EMPLOYEE of my local gas company and then got a hurried, "Oh, you don't qualify" and a hang up. I've read about this tactic before--they get you to agree to whatever it is that they're offering and then switch your gas service to their VERY high priced one. [***].

A female caller said she was from Washington Gas and I was eligible for a rebate. I said I don't have Washington Gas and asked their name and company. When they didn't answer I said this is a fraudulent call. The caller apologized and hung up. When I dialed the 301-212-7960 number back a recording said this is a non working number. It is easy to substitute alternate numbers to be shown on caller id devices.
I just got a call from this number on my cell phone. I didn't pick up, and after reading these comments, I'm glad I didn't. They didn't leave a message.
