Thank you "Bev in Oregon". Did it ever occur to these political ninnies that they just might be annoying people off enough that the once-loyal members of their political party would rebel and donate NOTHING to ANY of their political hacks? I have always given rather generously (for an old fart retiree), but no more ! ! I have had it with the endless annoyances -- as many as 6-7 calls EVERY DAY ! ! I do not single out the Republicans, the Democrats are just as bad when it is their turn to play "catch-up" -- they are all in the same boat. So I have stopped donating to ANY political party -- let their boat sink -- maybe if they have to swim a while they will treat their constituents a bit better! !
Call is from the College Republican National Committee. If you call back the number, there's a message about the organization, then they give you some options. Option 3 is to be taken off their calling list.
One solution is to buy a phone that has built-in call-blocking. We have a Panasonic corded/cordless phone that has a 'blocked list' feature where you save the annoying number. From then on, when a call comes from that number, it rings once on our end, but the 'caller' (robocall computer) hears a busy signal. Eventually the computer gives up on the eternal busy signal. You can store 30 annoying numbers in the blocked list. We've used this for years, and 30 is plenty. Very helpful and easy to use.
