The DNC list does not automatically block calls. Instead, it provides a list of "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.
The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations, charities, companies with preexisting business relationships, and some other organizations (such as debt collectors), but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).
The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
It can stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.
Google "call blocker" for more information.
If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scam" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.
Very much aware of some of the garbage you wrote. I am not a kid that need an assignment from you or anyone else.
By the way, I do not answer any calls when I do not know who the caller is. I have Caller ID, and from the system, I
can and do block calls. For you to state the obvious, next time keep your opinions to yourself. I do not have debt collectors, never have. I am all too aware of how the criminals and spanners operate. I have one that calls me using
my own phone number, have blocked that too. It amazes me how they think they can outsmart most of us.
For you to give me information that is not needed nor wanted, next time think before you write. Everyone do not
need a response from the likes of you. You sound like the person that find it necessary to post all over the internet
relative to everything and everyone.
Clueless. You have not understood what the "Do Not Call Registry" is. The DNC registry does not block calls. It is a list you get yourself added to that tells telemarketers not to call you or they can be fined. If the telemarketer uses the list, they won't call you, but some of them ignore the list. Who are you ranting at to do their jobs?? You have to do Your job of reporting unwanted calls when you are on the DNC list. That allows the FTC to collect complaints they can use to fine or shut down telemarketers who violate the DNC list.
By registering and reporting, you are part of the solution.
