I got a call from this number. I did not answer it but the voice mail said they were the IRS and I needed to call them as they were filing a criminal complaint against me. I called back and told them that I did not believe them as they had an address I had not lived at for 5 years. He gave me a number to call to verify the authenticity of the call 800-829-1040 which has been reported on this site as a scam.
I received the same b.s. from the same phone#. They are ID thieves and criminals that need to be ended. The same scumbags that use 'Caller ID Spoofing'. IMPORTANT RULE: IF you did not initiate the call: DO NOT PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFO *AND* DO NOT CALL ANY PHONE NUMBERS THEY PROVIDE - its all fake boiler room crap. No legitatimate business or gov. agency is going to initiate a call & ask for personal information - including your banks, credit card comapanies, insurance comanies, & the IRS.
Same as previous postings. Claiming to be IRS. Knowing I have no IRS issues, wasn't concerned and haven't returned messaged call. Tempted to call back and use reverse psychology, but not wasting the time.
Called me and told me i was being sued by the irs for tax evasion, and that once the call was over, a sheriff deputy would be at my door to serve me with a court summons and a warrant for my arrest. I was then berrated for tax evasion and told i was being deported, whis is hilarious because im a us citizen, then told that i could settle out of court for an amount i cant remember because by that time i had lost it and was reminding whoever was calling me what a red blooded, blue collar, tax paying american says when being threatened by someone of foreign descent.
