Caller I.D. said Steve Twyman. Area code is from out of state, so I sent the call to the FAX machine to give the caller a loud squeal in the ear! After Googling the number, I found-out that Steve Twyman is on-staff at Mortgage Experts in Largo Maryland, something like 3,000 miles away. So, speculation is that the call was a remortgage sales cold-call.
Caller ID said "Capital One" and, because Capital One bought out the bank that holds my dusty, old online savings account, I fell for it and answered. It was the same old "Card Services" (minus the, "Hi, it's Rachel" greeting) robocall: "This is your last chance to lower your credit card interest rates..." I know that even though I have an account through them it's not legit because I don't have a credit account with Capital One. I have a dinky savings account and there's no way they're robocalling to offer to raise my savings interest. I hung up before they dazzled me with their amazing credit card rates. I may have been dumb enough to answer the call but I have to maintain my dignity here by insisting I really didn't just fall off the idiot cart and roll down the moron hill, hitting every doofus rock all the way down. ;)
Caller ID said "Steve Twyman" in Maryland. I don't know anyone in MD, and I have no desire to converse with the caller. Based on the reports, it's Robo Rachel her cohorts trying to lighten my wallet. Blocked the number!
