Same thing happened today. It looks like an identify theft in progress. Caller verifies that this is your work number and then hangs up. Work number can be used with other information as tools to use good credit for fake loans and bank account openings..
This tel number 301.451.7065, man w/accent called our business telephone, confirmed my name & hung up. I called the tel # back - same as others' comments "The mailbox you are trying to reach is not in service" - What is this about?
Just got called by this # and like everyone else when an Indian accent asked if I was me - he hung up. The caller ID said Health and Human Services. They called my cell phone first and then my work #.
