As to how this scam works, they send you a check, tell you to cash it, send money somewhere, and eventually the check turns out to be no good and you are stuck for the money and the bank fees.
Or as an alternative you are to receive packages and resend them somewhere.
Same here. Just got the text. Really it has been so sad in my job hunt to see how people are trying to scam. I have had people call saying that they are a recruiter and give all this information about a job- but recruiters will bow up your mail and have a lot of back up. They told me they needed my social security number and all because that is how the company tracks recruits. And I went to the company website and it had a warning on its main career page that said we will never ask for that information. I have also had the google hangouts request for an interview and now this text.
