I've received calls from 1-301-723-7009 that stated Unavailable and I do not answer.  It's annoying to keep getting thes calls.  As stated above I will contact Montgomery County Career Fire Fighers Union regarding this number.

Thanks for the info.

SCAM WARNING!
Sat 1/3/09 12:05pm; caller ID "not available"; reverse phone look-up says
'unlisted land line Cumberland, MD'; american male voice w/hick accent, slick con-man type attitude; offered to "come and check your smoke alarm batteries" (yeah, right, let some stranger into your house); when we said "we already have that service", they responded "oh, what kind of service is that? don't you want to have your smoke alarm batteries checked?"  sounds like a scam to prey on gullible or elderly to come & rob you and your house.

get them
I suggest the Police having a Fake "set up house"
for their so called "checking batteries service"
with cops, news and hidden cameras everywhere.
Go through the motions, find out what the scam is
then bust them and arrest them coming out the door.
Just like on another show I saw to get child violators.
In case they come back, the cameras will catch them in the act
of breaking in.They may call the wrong person one day soon.

I also keep getting calls from this number.  Once the person did say he was from Firefighters, but did not sound very professional.  He called me "Miss A" by my first name, and then asked if I was a therapist (which I'm not).  I told him I don't answer personal questions and hung up.  Clearly NOT from the fire department.  Beware.  IS THERE ANY WAY TO BLOCK THIS NUMBER?

Montgomery County Career Firefighters Union calling for donations, and wanting to sell tickets to an Oriole's game. I had already made my donation directly to my local volunteer company, so he told me how it was really a waste of money because the local companies get all the money they need from the county, paid by taxes. He suggested that if I really wanted to save a firefighter's life I should give to his organization rather than my local company. That kind of made me mad, especially since I gave money specifically for a firefighter who was badly burned in a fire. How much of the money that the MCCFU get's spent on overhead? Quite a bit, I'm sure.
