They called our landline at 954 pm! I didn't answer but looked up info on this site. I had calls from these people before who claimed to be windows support and I messed with them and told them to take us off the call list. They are lowlifes. I don't think anyone has the time to deal with their stupid scam.
"Mike" called my cell phone at 8am. He starts gibberish about my computer. I laughed, told him he was an a**, my husband is a computer engineer (fact). I called back and he actually answered. I said thank you for answering you'll be hearing from the State Attorney General. You could hear alot of background noise.
I too called back, lots of background noise/chatter and I wonder how this can continue? Why can't this be traced? Kills me... I am also in tech support and I played along, tried to act scared shocked that my computer was infected.... They were all about it until I could not play any more. This needs to stop. Annoying!
It wasn't a number I recognized and it's called me several times before and left no message, pretty sure it was either a scammer or a telemarketer so I answered this as "officer Jones", they asked for my husband -- mispronouncing his name, I said you have reached officer Jones what can I help you with in a very stern voice, fellow on the end sounded a little flustered and said he was pretty sure they had a wrong number. Then after reading the above posts, chuckling to myself. I've gotten these calls before from other numbers that I have blocked. I guess they just switch it up and keep trying.
Some foreign chick (Arab accent) calls me at 10:45pm, and starts in something about 'Maw-rah-soft" and "comb-pootuh." I asked her why she was calling so late, and she said something about "e-mudgency". I asked her if this emergency at my house 1,500 miles from her was just discovered now, at 10:45pm, or was it maybe discovered at, say, 8pm? She got flustered and started mumbling incoherently with her thick Arab accent. I then told her I couldn't understand a word she was saying and opined that English was not her first language. She then hung up. Geez, when that Kuwaiti imam (video going around on FB) was admonishing his people to get off their lazy butts and do some work, I don't think he meant this idiotic scammer job. (I could see a Russian computer science professor suggesting this as a career, but not a religious cleric, HA!)
