Call from 302-394-6831 @ 12:41 pm in Ottawa. Odd thing is that is was somebody I know calling from their home number w/o power, but I did not answer because it was an unfamiliar number. Very strange. Called the number back and they ID themselves as telemarketers with an option to be removed from their list within 72 hrs. I selected that option so we will see if they abide by it.
April 7, 2011 at 10:16 AM I got a call from 302-394-6831. I live in Edmonton, AB and I really have no reason to hear from anyone in Delaware, USA. I lifted the receiver, but said nothing, and this recorded message said, "Your current credit card account is about to expire ...last notice ....lower your interest rate ..." I reported this, as well as 5 other similiar calls this week to the www.dncl.ca. Is this recording sold to many individuals, so they can get credit card information? Who would get paid to do this? Automatic dialling will not listen to our curses, screams, and threats, will it?
On April 7 at 10:54 A.M. M.D.T., I received a recorded message like others have about it being my last chance to lower my interest rates on my credit card. No specific card was mentioned. I was told I could press 1 to talk to a service person and 2 to be removed from their database. I don't remember the exact wording. I'm in Alberta. This company seems to be targeting Canadians as well as Americans.
Just got the call a couple minutes ago. Googled it and found this page. Had me worried. I answered, it was a voice recording saying that they had tried to get ahold of me numerous times regarding my credit card and that this was my last opportunity to lower my interest rate. Funny thing is i dont own a a credit card. Wish these people would just go away. They interrupt me always at the worst moments. My number is on the national DNCL but guess they dont care.
I got the call yesterday afternoon. I'm in Guelph, On. When I started to ask questions like where did they get my number the representative said the credit bureau gave them our information. I said no they didnt because that's against our Privacy Act. Then I asked what state they were calling me in and a supervisor took over the call as a "senior customer service manager for IBX Financial services." They could not give me my name or which cards they were calling about but kept reverting to asking if I wanted my rates lowered. I was too tired at this point to further disprove their illegitimacy.
