Senior citizens are primary targets of these pests. Please, educate your senior kinfolk and friends to take a second to look at the caller ID. (Let us hope they have Caller ID.) If they see a name and/or number they do not recognize, they should not pick up the call. Thanks.
Robot callers dial numbers in sequence. Ex: 212-555-0000, 0001, 0002, etc. They're bound to hit your number eventually! Did you ever notice, if you did answer, that there's a slight delay for the caller to say anything, after you've said hello? The live operator is signaled that the robot hit a "live" number, and then hops on the line to talk to you. Or try to scam you...
Caller ID: De Camden Wyomi = Town State = SCAM
something to do with back/knee braces for people with Medicare
Will report them at the Federal Trade Commission, complaints.donotcall.gov
Doesn't do any good to report them. The FTC only goes after someone if they receive tens of thousands of complaints and by the time they do anything, the scammer has moved on. Congress made sure their "friends" (bribes given for by lobbyists) could continue to make our lives miserable.
