Senior citizens are primary targets of these pests. Please, educate your senior kinfolk and friends to take a second to look at the caller ID. (Let us hope they have Caller ID.) If they see a name and/or number they do not recognize, they should not pick up the call. Thanks.
I bought a call blocker that will block 1200 call,my phone blocks 30. It doesn't stop the phone from ringing but it only rings once after it's blocked. then blessed silence. This is for my land line. My cell phone appears to allow blocking unlimited calls.
i have Verizon and blocking used to work. but one of these "marketers" got through anyway. no clue how they did it. - when i went in to block the number it was already there.
you don't really want to tell them to remove you because then it confirms a real number. plus, these are not honorable people and will ignore any requests to remove. almost impossible to stop them. even if you can block the number with your phone or provider, they just spoof another number.
Google "No Mo Ro Bo" for a free and effective solution (if you have VoiP service), look to see if you phone company/provider offers call blocking or look into buying a call blocker or a phone with phone number blocking
