I just got the call too, and I am in Michigan. I didn't pick it up though. I guess I am glad I didn't. I signed up with http://www.donotcall.gov a while ago, I wonder how I can go about reporting these [***]!
Unfortunatley my caller ID did not show a name along with this phone number. If it is true that they are spoofing phone numbers, then that is really low. It also sounds like it's very illegal! I sent an e-mail to the Colorado Attorney General with the little bit of information I was able to find online related to this address and phone number.
I've been called by this number SEVERAL times and I feel like throwing my cell phone at the wall when it happens.
My recording is something about some kind of service for my car - I always miss the call so it goes to my voicemail which is even MORE annoying. I know that this service isn't really for my car because the car is in my husband's name.
I always call the number back but here's the catch, guys. I've worked for 2 answering services. What you're getting when you call the number back isn't a real disconnected number. It's a recording of a real disconnected number that someone has put on an answering machine/voice mail system. When the phone first begins to ring there's a delayed ring which means that the number that's really calling us has their incoming calls forwarded to the system that gives the phony disconnected recording.
...Whoever it is, they suck.
Don't give anyone calling from this number your information because I'm sure they're involved in some sort of fraud or theft.
Just called me asking if I want installation of DishNetwork, as "home ownership has its privileges". I personally wouldn't know as I rent. I got through to an operator, and asked how they got my number, and he replied by hanging up on me so I couldn't even opt out
