I get a call from this number, Allied Interstate,, the guy says "I'm calling from Windows, and we are seeing errors on your computer,,, and insists I let him have remote viewing,,,,, NO WAY,,, I'm not a dummy. I said I'll fix it myself,,,, and hung up on him,,,, This is obviously a scam,,, Windows DOES not make calls,, they are crazy. So I have call block, and I reported it to DO NOT Call.

Supposedly this tech wants you to think that he's going to help you fix your computer with the idea to rip you off, and trash your computer. This is the 2nd call I've had like this, and can also stem from whatever brand of virus protection you are using. It is what it is, a scam. Dont fall for it. Fradulent Techs like this have also been known to put viruses on you computer hidden so well that most techs cant find them. Even doing a reinstall wont always help your computer. Dont fall for the gimmic. Hang up! You pay to have your computer destroyed.
Thank you for this great tip this same number called me today 5/27/2015, yeah they seemed pretty hell bent on helping and assisting me running me through as story how some big grant offered to the very few. Sounded fishy from the start but I continued with it and then after some guy pretended to help me get that grant they started asking me for info. They told me it is okay cause they work for the government... of course if your smart you should ask for which, I didn't bother cause I wanted to see how far it would go. Anyways after looking up this number as being a scam I stood on the line and they soon after tried to redirect me to as advisor and then a counselor each of course fake"" after the whole ordeal the next set the said was to get enrolled. That is when I hung up. This scamming company is a tricky one in my opinion avoid it at all costs, they will record you to get legal rights to taking any money / grants you have under your name. Please don't be stupid and give out information on the phone. Word of advise to others if it sounds too good to be true it just is one big fat scam. Never do business if it is not in person and even then check and advise.
Guy with Russian accent called me and asked if I was having a computer problem. Them he said my address and I told him if I could put him on hold while I filter his call trough the FBI, them he said was OK. I asked in German why he was calling me, also asked him in Russian he answered like bubbling, he is on drugs. I think this # is collecting for a foreign organization, not to name any. I didn't let him proceed and told him it was better not proceed with the scam. This is a Miami FL call, probably third party calling. Just worry about my identity and address.
