I also just missed a call from this number and the voicemail he left said his name was Officer Steven Lourdes (?) calling me from the office of federal enforcement and that they have "received a law suit complaint on my name and identity." Looked into the "office of federal enforcement" and there isn't an office of federal enforcement - there's an office of federal facilities enforcement and an office of federal law enforcement. Pretty sure I would have received a notification via U.S. Postal Service if there was an actual law suit against my name. This is definitely a scam. You can report the scam with the Better Business Bureau: https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/council/reportscam - however unsure of how effective this is.
It would not be effective. Callers are hard core Indian and Pakistani scammer extortionists. They ignore all US laws. The US can't do anything and the local authorities do little. Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on numbers you do not recognize. IRS does NOT
file lawsuits or initiate contact by phone. All initial contacts by IRS are by US mail only.
I also just received a call from this number today, a man claiming to be Officer Steven Morris, whom worked for the Federal Enforcement Agency. Everything he said was extremely scripted, he claimed that their is a lawsuit complaint on my name and identity as he stated with others. I would just ignore the call if you get it, but absolutely a scam.
Just answered a call from this number, the caller had a thick accent, asked for a name that didn't sound like mine. I asked who was calling, he gave some law enforcement title, and I said he had the wrong number. He then said "[***] you [***]" and I didn't reply. After a couple of seconds of silence, he then said "You're a [***]" and hung up.
