These people call me at least 5 times a day. They actually called my ex-husband telling him that I signed his name to a document and that he also owes the money. Same story old payday loan from 2008. IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM. They try to intimidate you and scare you that you have a civil suit against you but what they don't realize is that you must be served a summons to appear in court. When asking them for a copy of the summons they hang up. But they are so stupid they continue calling.
this number has been calling me for 3 weeks. They say I have 3 things against my name from 2007 for cash advances. told them they are delusional, first off if u owed a company like that they would call right away and if u didn't pay u would get sent certified mail and whatever else needed to collect.. no one waits 8 years to try to claim money owed, especially for some crazy thing like this. the guy cussed me and yelling like he was trying to scare me into something. I ended it telling them bring it on, if I have to go to court I will deal with it. I got a call today them using this number now'305 424 8628

I got a call from this number too. I have been getting calls like this for months. Just different numbers. Now I check every number that calls me to see if they are scammers. I stopped answering these calls knowing they are spam and are trying to scam you, after reading all these posts. For one thing I do not answer calls whose number I don't recognize. I am thankful for these posts. They are very helpful.
I have been getting calls from them for 6 to 7 months about a payday loan from 2008 I believe they said I asked for proof they said they could not provide it I said were they for me with the statute limitations for Celine in the state of Florida and they said they didn't have to follow that that they could do what they wanted. The state of Florida has a phone number where you can call to verify payday loans those the only ones there and forceful in the state of Florida
They must follow both Federal and State laws. The SOL only specifies how long they are allowed to sue you, not how long they are allowed to collect the debt Statute of Limitations by state: http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/statut ... hart-29941.html
Now also keep in mind, that they must be registered with the State of Florida as a debt collection agency. I have provide specific links to the Florida State Agencies as well.
This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
