Phone number (307) 248-4360 with Caller-ID *Afton, Wyoming* called our home land-line on June 24, 2015 at noon. We never answer unrecognized or blocked Caller-ID's, ever, and we screen the voicemail message if they leave one, and then we pick up and speak if it is a legitimate and/or recognized caller. This caller did not leave a message and this caller disconnected as soon as the message machine engaged. We get at least 1 or 2 of these every single day from all kinds of different numbers with the vast majority of them being 'spoofed' Caller-ID's. Although, It used to be worse, much worse. About 3 years ago, before we stopped automatically answering the phone whenever it rang and switched to always, without fail, letting the call go to the answer machine for screening when we don't recognize the Caller-ID or if the Caller -ID is blocked, we used to get about 10 or more every single day.
Ever since we diligently stopped routinely answering unrecognized or blocked Caller-ID phone calls, the number of them on average has dropped off dramatically. We've had the same phone number for 30 years and did not want to change it just to mitigate the Spam and Fraud calls from these sub-human degenerates, and not answering the phone and just letting it go to the answer machine for screening has helped tremendously after a couple of years. If they're using spoofed Caller-ID's and never leave a message, and use the same spoofed number three times or more, then the number gets added to the Block-List feature of our phone where blocked numbers ring just once and then get auto-disconnected by the phone itself, and/or we add the number to our phone account call-blocking feature and it gets entirely blocked at our Cable Company phone service provider website. Unfortunately, space for numbers on both the phone and at the phone service website are limited so we have to wait for 3 or more illegitimate calls before adding. But, it works, more or less.
