This is an offshoot of the fact that ALL modern purchased debt collection agencies were started by a former Detroit Prison System Inmate who needed a job once getting out and bought a list of debt holders from an agency for pennies on the dollar and as he put it "I just started calling them.".  Our prison system is not predicated on correction, it is more like an eternally running "conference on how to more effectively commit crime" so while he was running a legit (though a bit shady) business I cannot expect his former inmate colleagues who came afterwards and started their own agencies to hold to even those standards.

Just got a call from the 307-316-7474 myself.  Again no one spoke, but I have no debt and nothing outstanding so they are just trying to be a pest, I would have to think.  After reading all of the above messages, I will follow suit and NOT EVER answer that line.  I thought at first it was business related because it was from Cheyenne and we do business there.

Some Tips:

*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
