Just got a call from this number on my personal mobile phone. Answered it, heard silence for a second or two and then a busy signal. Must be some kind of broken autodialing system.
I too have been receiving daily t/c's from this number. I'm confused why it goes to a busy signal if I answer the line. I too adopted a dog around the time that the calls started. Thanks for all of the info!
I also just adopted a dog from a humane society with the free pet insurance.
What I have heard is that companies use this method (where they don't talk) to see what time you picked the phone up so they know what time you're home so they can call during those hours.
I have heard (haven't verified this) is that if you hit the # button as many times, as quick as you can, it will screw up their system and knock your number out. I don't know if this is really works.
Dummy me missed and hit another button before I hit the # button.
I just got a call AGAIN. It as a pre-recorded message so I didn't get the first part. Guessing it kicked in when my voicemail greeting started. The 800 number they left to call was different this time. I did get ShelterCare for the kitten I recently adopted so that's obviously how they got my number, but these shoddy autodialed calls are getting annoying.
P.S. I saw a post on another site (presumably by a PetCare employee) that they were having problems with their automated phone system back in January. Perhaps it's happening again?
